PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original plate of a lithographic plate and a support for the lithographic plate used therefor which make it possible to prevent the back side of the original plate from being flawed in transport, handling or others and to prevent sticking of the back side and an image recording layer and consequent peeling of the image recording layer on the occasion when the plates in large numbers are stacked and stored for a long period, and further which cause no slippage on the occasion of cutting or piling. SOLUTION: The support for the lithographic plate has a porous layer formed by binding one or more particles selected from the group consisting of an aluminum hydroxide particle, an aluminum oxide particle and a silica particle, with a compound containing at least one atom out of an aluminum atom and a silicon atom and a phosphorus atom, on the surface opposite to the surface whereon the image recording layer of a base having an aluminum surface is provided.
