<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens for a light emitting element, the lens by which light from the light emitting element is made parallel light with uniform distribution of luminance and with steep rise in the periphery of the luminous flux. <P>SOLUTION: The lens 1 for a light emitting element is composed of a lens body 2 which converges light from the light emitting element to radiate yhe light forward and a connecting member 3 which is fixed at one end in the lens body and engaged at the other end with the light emitting element 4. The covering part 6 at one end of the connecting member covers the outer peripheral part of the lens body causing spherical aberration and engages with the lens body. As a result, the covering part masks the outer periphery of the luminous flux radiated from the lens body, emitting the luminous flux in the center where distribution of luminance is uniform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
