The tool has a shaft (12) with cutters (24) that are pushed in a transverse direction of the shaft based on the linear movement of the shaft with respect to a work piece. Each cutter has a principal axis running at an angle with respect to a horizontal plane. A template (22) arranged along a path of the shaft movement has a control surface (34) acting on guiding parts, and removes the cutters with varying depths from the shaft.
