PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope which can accurately fix a balloon at a desired position of an insertion section by forming an index or unevenness at a position to which the end section of the balloon is fixed. SOLUTION: On the insertion section 12 of this endoscope 10, the balloon 42 is fitted. The balloon 42 is formed into an approximately cylindrical shape, and is fixed to the insertion section 12 by winding a yarn on the end sections 42A and 42A of the balloon 42 as it remains inserted through the insertion section 12. On the outer peripheral surface of the insertion section 12, the indexes 90 and 90 are formed at the positions to which the end sections 42A and 42A of the balloon 42 are fixed.
