<p>A protective shield for mining in restricted headroom has the front of the shield (10) fitted onto the support skids by pairs of levers (6, 7) and with a sockets (2) for folding hydraulic rams (3). The upper lever (6) of each pair is fitted with a shield (20) with two flexible side flanges (22), e.g. of elastic mat, to prevent jamming by small stones and debris. The mat can be made of plastic, rubber or of any suitable material.</p> |
