PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezo-electric resonant element capable of making a piezoelectric substrate thin and reducing spurious vibration, a piezo-resonator and a filter using this, and a composite substrate. SOLUTION: The piezo-electric resonant element has an interdigital transducer (IDT) provided with a pair of interdigital electrodes on one principal plane of a piezoelectric substrate, and uses a surface wave of an SH wave type. Further, the element is equipped with the same potential composed of a group of the same potential electrode fingers which are adjoining three of more electrode fingers and at the same potential, out of a plurality of electrode fingers constituting the IDT.
