PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rational building which uses a composite structure comprising a beam of a steel construction and a column mainly composed of concrete, and an effective construction method therefor. SOLUTION: A central part or an intermediate part of a one-direction beam 2 of both-direction beams 2 and 3 joined to the column is erected on the column, and the other-direction beam 3 is rigidly joined by welding the end of the beam 3 to the side of the beam 2. A closing plate 6 serving as a form for joint is provided around the joint between both the beams 2 and 3; a main reinforcement 8 for the column is vertically inserted in the closing plate 6, and concrete is placed and infilled in the closing plate 6 in a state of being integrated with the column, so that a beam-column joint 10 can be formed.
