<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument on which a melody, an accompaniment, etc., can be played through easy operation. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic musical instrument is equipped with a pad P and fret switches FS and while a fret switch FS is pressed, the pad P is hit to generate a musical sound. In melody-1 mode, one note event is read out each time the pad is operated; and a previous sound is muted and a next sound is generated to enable legato-like playing. A mute switch MS is operated when necessary to enable even staccato-like playing. In melody-2 mode, base mode, chord-1 mode, and chord-2 mode, a note event currently read out of a memory is sounded each time the pad is operated. In ad-lib mode, a different pitch is assigned to each fret switch FS and while one of the fret switches FS is pressed, the pad P is operated to generate a musical sound having the pitch assigned to the fret switch FS. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
