<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pod type propeller and a vessel provided with it requiring no huge blower and gas cooling device, capable of efficiently cooling an electric motor and enhancing propulsion efficiency by reducing a size of the electric motor. <P>SOLUTION: In the pod type propeller 1, the electric motor 4 is built-in in the pod 3 mounted from a ship's bottom through a strut 2 and a propulsion propeller 5 is connected to an output shaft 40 of the electric motor 4.
