PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a droplet discharging apparatus and a method of driving a droplet discharging head which reduce the time required to determine conditions of head-driving signals and control the working time and consumption of a functional liquid by decreasing the amount of the liquid discharged in a trial. SOLUTION: A droplet discharging apparatus 1 has a means of detecting residual vibrations, a means of comparing vibrations, a means of controlling the driving waveform and a means of generating driving signals. To generate optimal driving signals, standard information comprising driving signals corresponding to normal discharging conditions for a droplet discharging head 10 and residual vibrations and control information consisting of information on correlation between driving signals and residual vibrations are created. Residual vibrations are then detected and compared with the standard and the control information, and driving signals are adjusted on the basis of the comparison results to create optimal driving signals.
