PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a simpler configuration by reducing the size, weight, and costs of of a storage element, such as a capacitor, as an auxiliary power supply in a battery, by improving reliability by dispensing with a mechanical contact, by preventing the damage of the storage element in starting, by preventing starting failure in advance, and by reducing the size, weight, and costs of a second battery as the auxiliary power supply of a first battery that forms a main power supply. SOLUTION: In the power supply for starting, the battery 20 and the storage element 2 are electrically connected in series; the battery 20, the storage element 2, and a starter 6 are electrically connected via a starter switch 5; a charger 4 is electrically connected to the battery 20; and the charger 4 operates to accumulate power in the storage element 2 with the battery 20 as a power supply. Additionally, in the power supply, a diode 3 is electrically connected in parallel with the storage element 2, and the diode 3 is arranged so that it can be energized in the same direction as current flowing from the battery 20 to the starter 6.
