The invention relates to a mechanical clamping device for traction means, in particular for a chain, with oriented friction damping, also comprising a friction element (5) which can be displaced in a cylinder (1) counter to the action of the friction forces. Said friction element comprises a central conical recess (6) which protrudes from a front side thereof, wherein a formed clamping cone (7), corresponding to a connected piston rod (4), is engaged therein . The friction piston is supported by an internal pressure spring on the cylinder counter to the insertion movement of the piston rod (4) in the cylinder (1). The invention is characterised in that the cylinder (1) is provided with an internal cone (8) which tapers in the direction of insertion of the piston rod (4), whereon the friction element rests on the external side thereof with a corresponding external cone (9), such that the friction element (5) is displaced further than the piston rod (4) when the piston rod is fed inwards. |
