<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input controller and a method for responding to inputs that increase the reliability of operating buttons on a touch panel. <P>SOLUTION: A main control part 21 causes vibration of the touch panel 4 in a vibration pattern VP1 when a user touches an area of the touch panel 4 where no buttons are displayed in a menu window (a). As the user traces the touch panel 4 to move the touch position into the coordinate area of a button 4 while continuing to touch the panel (c, d), the main control part 21 again generates the vibration pattern VP1 that shows that the operation of selecting the button A has been accepted, at the time when the touch panel enters the coordinate area of the button A. Also, the display color of the button A changes into a color C1 that signals selection (d).
