PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To approximately make level shifts which occur in pixel potentials due to parasitic capacitance that parasitically exists in a scanning signal line, uniform within a display plane. SOLUTION: An output signal VD1a having a waveform having a slope period Tslope wherein the voltage level decreases like a slope from a high level is input to a scan signal line driving circuit. The output signal VD1a is a signal such that the sum of a high-level period and the slope period Tslope is a period of an Stc signal equal to one scanning period. The scan signal line driving circuit generates and outputs a waveform of VG(j) having a slope quantity Vslope as a fall slope to each scan signal line by using the slope period Tslope.
