PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the positional accuracy of an image, which is formed on a front side/backside, by correcting the distortion of the image on the front side/backside, caused by the distortion, shrinkage, etc. of transfer paper. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus 1 makes adjusted data on a main scanning inclination and a subscanning inclination input from an operation display part 12, depending on the front side/backside and type of the transfer paper, so as to set the input adjusted data in an adjusted file 11f. In the formation of the image, the adjusted data are acquired from the adjusted file 11f depending on the front/backside and type of the transfer paper, and turning processing is applied to image data in accordance with the adjusted data, so that the distortion of the image can be corrected; and the image can be formed on the transfer paper.
