Device for creating axial bores in mitered profile rods comprises a support (1) for holding a drill bushing (7) and a positioning rod (8) for introducing into an opening in a profile rod. The drill bushing and positioning rod are arranged on the support so that the axis of the drill bushing and the central longitudinal plane of the positioning rod lie in a vertical plane. A stop (10) limiting the insertion depth of the positioning rod in the profile rod has a stop surface that can be placed on the mitered surface of the profile rod so that the distance between the intersection of the mitered surface and the central longitudinal plane of the positioning rod on one side and the axis of the drilling bushing on the other side is constant.
