A cosmetic composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, tetramethylguanidine; the medium and the concentration of tetramethylguanidine being so chosen that it reacts on the cystines of keratinic fibers by beta-elimination to produce dehydro-alanine and leads to the formation of lanthionine in order to produces 0.2-3cm curls in less than 60 minutes. Independent claims are included for: (1) a kit comprising at least two compartments one of which contains the claimed composition and another a supplementary care, conditioning, makeup, de-makeup, protection, cleansing or washing composition for keratinic fibers; (2) A method of permanent deformation of keratinic fibers employing the claimed composition; (3) Use of tetramethylguanidine as an active agent in the permanent deformation of keratinic fibers; (4) an active agent for permanently deforming keratinic fibers comprising the imine. |
