PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a plurality of printing heads are installed in different positions in a paper conveyance direction and in this case, the change of an image quality of a printed image per printing head ensues from a difference, if significant, in the distance between the printing head and the heating position of the paper and consequently, there are possibilities that the image quality of the printed image might deteriorate. SOLUTION: This liquid discharge device comprises a mobile body which transfers a plurality of liquid discharge parts for discharging a liquid to a medium in a transfer direction; a heating mechanism which is transferred in the transfer direction by the mobile body to heat the medium; and a conveyance mechanism which conveys the medium in the conveyance direction. In addition, the device repeats the cycle of conveying the medium by the conveyance mechanism and discharging the liquid by the liquid discharge parts. Further, the position of the heating mechanism in the conveyance direction lies between the liquid discharge part positioned at the extreme end upstream and the liquid discharge part positioned at the extreme end downstream, of the liquid discharge parts.
