PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an abnormality in the operation of an electronic component mounting device when an electronic component mounting system runs.

SOLUTION: The electronic component mounting device 11 of the electronic component mounting system comprises a board transfer mechanism 12 which holds and transfers a circuit board 9; a mounting mechanism 14 which mounts an electronic component on the circuit board 9; a component supply 13 which supplies an electronic component to the mounting mechanism 14; an operation sound capturing section 5 which captures operation sounds generated by those mechanisms as they operate; a memory 61 which stores data of a standard operation sound that is generated by the mechanisms operating normally, and data of an abnormal operation sound that is generated when the mechanisms operate abnormally; and a detecting circuit 62 which detects the abnormal operation of the board transfer mechanism 12, the mounting mechanism 14, or the component supply section 13 on the basis of an operation sound captured by the operation sound capturing section 5 (captured operation sound data). The electronic component mounting device 11 compares captured operation sound data with the standard operation sound data to detect an abnormal operation, and then with the abnormal operation sound data to specify the type of the abnormal operation.
