PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving circuit and a receiving method by which broadcasts by several providers can be received by amplifying received signals to an amplification degree according to each of the providers. SOLUTION: A receiving circuit 100 at an antenna part of a satellite radio 1 has an antenna element 110 which receives airwaves, first amplifiers 121, 141 and 161 in first to third stages each of which amplifies signals to a specified amplification degree, second amplifiers 122, 142 and 162 and selectors 120, 140 and 160 which select either first or second amplifier in each of the first to third stages according to the selected provider. A band-pass filter 130 and an attenuator 150 are commonly used regardless of the provider. When a provider is selected in a tuner circuit 200 by a user, selection signals are applied to the selectors 120, 140 and 160 through a power supply circuit 170 and an effective amplifier is selected.
