摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharging electrode material whose lifetime and discharge characteristics equivalent to that of a discharging electrode made of Nb as a principal component can be obtained and which is excellent in weldability with a support conductor. SOLUTION: The cladding material 1 for the discharging electrode is provided with an intermediate layer 2 made of a nickel based alloy consisting essentially of pure nickel or nickel or a Fe based alloy consisting essentially of pure Fe or Fe, and a first niobium layer 3 and a second niobium layer 4 joined to both sides of the intermediate layer 2 and made of a Nb based alloy consisting essentially of pure Nb or Nb. After molding the cladding material 1 to obtain a cup for the electrode, the niobium layers in a prescribed external surface part where a support electrode is welded are removed to expose the intermediate layer 2.
