<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking pen and a sign pen which are devised capable of quickly confirming a writing holding direction in using the marking pen and the sign pen which have a wide pen point and a convexed projection part and a concave depression part are provided to a tip part of a writing implement. <P>SOLUTION: A tip of a pen main body is provided with a convex protrusion or a concave depression which indicate a writing holding direction. By holding the pen main body with an index finger put to the projection or the depression an appropriate writing holding direction can be confirmed.
