PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for producing glass spheres which enable the glass spheres having a uniform weight and shape to be produced, and the glass spheres to be recovered in a sufficiently cooled state. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for producing the glass spheres has a flow-out nozzle 3 for allowing molten glass A to flow down as a continuous flow, and a recovering tank 6 for recovering glass masses B which are obtained by converting the molten glass A allowed to flow out as the continuous flow into the droplet-like glass masses B during flowing down. Further, the apparatus has a gas nozzle 59 for changing the falling orbit of one or both of glass masses B vertically adjacent to each other by ejecting a gas to the glass masses B or sucking the glass masses B while being rotated around the falling orbit of the glass masses when the glass masses B are allowed to flow down.
