摘要 <p>The invention relates to environment protection, in particular to methods for removing radioactive substances from discharged waters in order to eliminate a toxic effect of heavy and radioactive metals. The inventive environmentally safe and efficient method for removing radioactive substances from liquid wastes and discharged waters by introducing a sorbing agent into a cleanable solution consists in placing a natural organogenic sorbing agent in an ion-permeable cartridge provided with a coaxially arranged electrode (cathode) and an external counter-electrode (anode), in disposing said cartridge in a cleanable solution, in applying a voltage potential between the electrodes in such a way that a directed movement of cations from said cleanable solution to the sorbing agent volume and the retention of said cations in the matrix thereof is provided by the action of said potential. The natural organogenic-sorbing agent is embodied in the form of a peat, lignin or products of the modification thereof. In order to decrease the final volume of solid radioactive wastes, the sorbing agent is reduced to ash after saturation with radionuclides. An external electrode or a tank electroconductive body is used as the counter-electrode. A constant voltage is supplied to the electrodes and the value of a voltage potential preventing the possible recovery of ions of certain elements on the cathode is empirically determined.</p>
