PURPOSE:To realize a wide dynamic range, a random access function and high S/N ratio characteristics by detecting the signal charge after giving vertical and horizontal cans to the signal charge. CONSTITUTION:A vertical pulse phiVG1 is set at a high level at a time point t1, and the signal charge QS moves to a position B1 from a position A1. At a time point t2 a horizontal pulse phiHG1 is applied to a gate HG1 from a horizontal scan circuit 106 via a horizontal pulse transmission line 107. Thus the charge QS moves to a position C1 from the position B1. Then both pulses phiHG1 and phiRG are set at a low level at a time point t4, and the charge QS moves to a position D1 from C1. This charge QS is detected by an MOSFET 111 having a gate connected to an n<+> region 206 and read out through an output terminal S in the form an electric signal. In such a way, vertical and horizontal scan circuits are used together with vertical and horizontal charge transmission lines to scan the signal charge. This charge is detected by an electric detector to obtain an electric signal. |
