<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device for preventing the degradation of imaging quality resulting from cutting burrs of a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: With the recording medium being carried, a toner image formed on an image carrier is transferred to the recording medium and the recording medium after transferring the image is put into a belt fixing device 24, where the non-fixed toner image on the recording medium is fixed to the recording medium. In this way, the image forming device comprises a smoothing device provided in a carrying passage P for the recording medium, which uses a smoothing member for thrusting the recording medium at its front end to push and smooth the cutting burrs. Desirably, the smoothing member is formed in a roller shape for repetitively thrusting the recording medium with its rotation and its peripheral face is in an uneven shape.
