PURPOSE:To improve the surface characteristic of an ingot by disposing cooling water guides spaced at a specified distance and providing finned rolls which support the belts by inserting the fins into the notched grooves of the cooling water guides. CONSTITUTION:The belts 5, 5' are synchronously driven in the directions opposite from each other via drive pulleys 3, 3' and the molten metal 10 of a tundish 9 is poured between the belts 5 and 5'. The molten metal 10 is cooled with cooling water by the finned rolls 17, 17' in a meniscus part 24 and is cooled with the finned rolls 52 and cooling pads 53 having the cooling water guides in a casting area 25. The rolls 52 support the belts 5, 5' by the fins inserted into the notched grooves of the cooling water guides. The contact of the belts 5, 5' and the fins is made rolling resistance and the oscillation of the belts is prevented by the above-mentioned mechanism. The surface characteristic of the ingot is thus improved. |
