PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample collecting apparatus for easily collecting a sample. SOLUTION: In the sample collecting apparatus for molten metal having a support pipe, a sample chamber fixed in the support pipe and an entrance member for the molten metal flowing into the sample chamber, an entrance pipe (8) is disposed in the entrance member (7), an exit (9) to the sample chamber (2) is provided at one end of the entrance pipe (8), an entrance opening (12) is provided at the other end of the entrance pipe (8), the exit (9) and the entrance opening (12) of the entrance pipe (8) have a cross section smaller than a central part of the entrance pipe (8), the entrance pipe (8) is made of quartz glass, and a wall of the entrance pipe (8) is narrowed toward a pipe axis line at its both end.
