PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a sulfonic acid chloride with a good yield and operability from a sulfonic acid or its salt. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of a sulfonic acid chloride, it is manufactured by reacting a sulfonic acid or its salt with a chlorination agent such as phosgene, an oxyphosphorus chloride, a thionyl chloride, etc., in a solvent comprising an aliphatic nitrile or an alicyclic nitrile which are separable from water.
