PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for shift control in an automatic transmission for a vehicle improving driveability by separating a shift line by a change in a vehicle speed and that by a change in the amount of throttle opening for shift control, and changing speed in an optimum shift pattern according to operation conditions. SOLUTION: The method for shift control of the automatic transmission for vehicles comprises a stage of selecting one of a vehicle speed reference shift line and a throttle amount-of-opening reference shift line, and a stage of controlling a shift by the selected shift line, based on the amount of change in a vehicle speed and the amount of change in the amount of opening of the throttle during set amount of time, by utilizing a shift pattern including at least one vehicle speed reference shift line for performing a prescribed shift by the shift and the amount of opening of the throttle and at least one throttle amount-of-opening reference shift line.
