摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an advanced method for controlling gain variations in an RF path of a wireless system transmitter. SOLUTION: In a digital detector, at least one received digital signal is processed, a squared signal is formed and encoded, a first and a second portions of the encoded signal are added to a multiplier and a look-up element respectively, the outputs of the multiplier and the lookup element are processed, and a detector output signal is formed which shows the power level of the received digital signal. The digital detector is constituted so that wave dependence is shown, which is substantially the same as a case of a detector of an analog logarithmic amplifier. The digital detector and the analog logarithmic amplifier detector are used in a close loop gain control for providing the desired gain to a signal path of a certain base station transmitter, located in a wireless communication system.
