PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which the printed side of paper is prevented from being damaged when the paper is separated from a heat roller and the surface of the heat roller is also prevented from being damaged. SOLUTION: The fixing device has a heat roller and a pressure roller which rotate in firm contact with each other, and fixes an unfixed toner image under heat by allowing paper with the unfixed toner image held on it to pass through a nip between both the rollers. The fixing device is characterized by including: a separating body 22 which comes into elastic contact with the heat roller 7 downstream of the nip 21 between the rollers 7a and 7b and separates the paper P on the heat roller 7a; and a peeling claw 24 which peels the paper P sticking to the separation body 22 from it.
