PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for controlling a greenhouse, capable of keeping the cultivation environment in the greenhouse in good condition. SOLUTION: A ventilation rate is calculated from temperatures and relative humidities in the interior and exterior of the greenhouse. A latent additional evapotranspiration rate per floor area in the greenhouse is calculated from the calculated ventilation rate, and the latent additional evapotranspiration rate is used as a required mist-generating rate per the floor area in the greenhouse. The required mist-generating rate per the green house is calculated by multiplying the mist-generating rate per the floor area by the floor area. The mist-generating time [Pf(s)] is calculated from the obtained required mist-generating rate and a mist-generating cycle [Pfb(s)], or the required discharging pressure of a mist-generating pump is calculated from the required mist-generating rate. The generation of the mist for the greenhouse is stopped when the condition of the interior of the greenhouse is changed to a highly humid state (e.g.≥90%RH) during the generation of the mist.
