<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation supporting system for a vessel, which complements an ARPA apparatus by an AIS apparatus, by utilizing the characteristics of the ARPA apparatus and the AIS apparatus, and which can enhance accuracy in tracking a target vessel by the ARPA apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes: the AIS apparatus 12 for successively receiving target vessel position information transmitted from the target vessel or a third party; a GPS apparatus 14 for specifying the position of the vessel of one's own; a target relative position calculation means 16 for calculating the relative position of the target vessel with respect to the vessel of one's own, from the received target vessel position information and the specified position information of the vessel of one's own; the ARPA apparatus 20 which successively predicts the position of the captured target vessel, from a radar signal of a radar, and which successively tracks the target vessel captured by an extraction area which is set in the radar image on the basis of the predicted position; an identical target determination means 22 for specifying the target vessel which has transmitted the target vessel position information and which is the identical target vessel tracked by the ARPA apparatus 20, from the relative position of the target vessel calculated by the target relative position calculation means 16; and a predicted position calibration means 26 for calibrating, if necessary, the extraction region which is set by the ARPA apparatus 20 by the relative position of the target vessel specified as the identical by the identical target determination means 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
