PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetically controlled fuel injection valve having a movable element 5 of a solenoid valve having both a high responsiveness and a high durability. SOLUTION: This fuel injection valve comprises an injection valve body and the solenoid valve. The solenoid valve comprises an electromagnetic solenoid and an open/close valve mechanism. The open/close valve mechanism comprises the movable element 5, a movable element holder holding the movable element 5, and an orifice plate. The movable element 5 comprises a flat plate part 51 and a shaft part 52, and three cutout parts 53 formed in a roughly V-shape with approx. 90°and having a radial distance between the deepest part 5A and a contact flat surface 5D of 2.0 mm are formed in the outer periphery of the flat plate part 51. Six oil passing grooves 58 in the radial direction are formed in the sucking face 5K of the flat plate part 51. The positions of the outer ends 5B of six oil passing grooves 58 are set at positions radially displaced from the deepest parts 5A of three cutout parts 53. In this structure, since the deepest parts 5A is not allowed to communicate with the outer ends B, stress concentration produced at the deepest parts 5A by the collision thereof with the movable element 5 can be reduced, and both the high responsiveness and the high durability can be provided concurrently.
