<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally set the buffering time of a receiver side terminal, according to the environment of a network. <P>SOLUTION: A communication unit 21 transmits a measurement packet for measuring a reciprocating time of reciprocating between the receiver side terminal and a transmitter side terminal transmitting a packet of streaming data, and receives this packet. A controller 22 calculates the buffering time on the basis of the reciprocating time of the measured packet. A reproduced data buffering section 23 buffers the streaming data of the packet transmitted from the transmitter side terminal, and starts reading the buffered streaming data after the buffering time elapses.
