<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital image encoding apparatus for performing high-speed JPEG-2000 compression and a digital image decoding apparatus for performing high-speed JEG-2000 decompression by effectively performing coefficient bit modeling in JPEG-2000 compressing/decompressing process. <P>SOLUTION: A first process means for determining whether or not each bit of a certain bit plane of a certain code block is present, is to be processed on a first path, and a second process means for determining whether or not each bit of the certain bit plane of the certain code block is present, is to be processed on a second path, are included, wherein the first process means and the second process means operate in parallel with regard to the same bit plane of the same code block. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
