<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve system for an internal combustion engine capable of maintaining control precision of valve operation characteristics irrespective of change of engine speed. <P>SOLUTION: The valve system 11 is provided with a motor 12, a cam mechanism 14 converting rotary motion of the motor 12 to linear motion of an intake valve 2 by a cam 21, and a motor control device controlling rotation speed of the motor 12 to change acceleration characteristics during lifting of the intake valve 2 according to rotation speed of the motor 12. Acceleration of the cam 21 is changed by the motor control device 30 to suppress increase of cam shaft torque generated when the cam 21 is driven in a range out of optimum rotation range in cam profile design and to keep cam shaft torque low irrespective of engine speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
