PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin care preparation having the function as a substantial lightening cosmetic exerting bleaching effect while suppressing excessive melanogenesis and maintaining natural feeling. SOLUTION: The skin care preparation is obtained by compounding 4-n-butylresorcinol and/or a salt thereof, one or more kinds selected from phosphoric acid, its derivative and their salts, and as necessary, an antimicrobial polyhydric alcohol and a (co)polymer based on poly(meth)acrylic acid and introduced with hydrophilic groups onto the side chain.
