PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus and an inkjet recording method whereby full page recording of a recording medium can be carried out at a high speed by suppressing a recording speed decrease at an end region of the recording medium. SOLUTION: Groove parts 7d and 7e located shifting in a vertical scanning direction are formed on a platen 7. Recording images at regions of a leading end part 1A and a rear end part 1B of the recording medium 1 are recorded by using a plurality of opposed nozzles opposed to the groove parts 7d and 7e among a plurality of nozzles at a recording head 6, and moreover by simultaneously using a plurality of opposed nozzles at the time of at least one recording scanning.
