PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device reducing power consumption while executing the reading-out of a pixel signal in low resolution with the same data accuracy as the high resolution. SOLUTION: When an image is read out in the high resolution mode, an image signal of a pixel array 1 is transferred to a first reading-out part 9 and a second reading-out part 10. When the image is read out in the low resolution mode, the image signal is transferred only to the first reading-out part 9 by a switch part 7 and the second reading-out part 10 is in a standby state. AD conversion of the pixel signal is not executed in the second reading-out part 10. Therefore, the power consumption in the operation for reading the image in the low resolution mode is reduced.
