PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent electrochromic device by solving a problem that it is difficult to obtain an electrochromic material required in designing the electrochromic device, of which the colored state and the discolored state are chemically controllable, and which has a high rate of change of absorbance and is excellent in reliablity so as to be repeatedly usable. SOLUTION: An oxidation coloring type electrochromic device includes: a first electrode; a second electrode; an electrolyte medium; and a circuit to apply an electric potential between the first and second electrodes, wherein an ultra thin film with a manganese oxide nano-sheet and a polymer alternately laminated is positioned on the first electrode, and the oxidation coloring type electrochromic device is stably operated with high reliability by allowing the electrolyte medium to come in contact with both of the ultra thin film with the manganese oxide nano-sheet and the polymer alternately laminated, and the second electrode.
