<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase transition type optical recording medium wherein a track pitch is reduced, high recording density is attained and occurrence of cross-erase is prevented and which can be inexpensively manufactured, to provide a method for recording by suppressing cross-erase and cross-write to the phase transition type recording medium and to provide a manufacturing method by which the phase transition type optical recording medium can be inexpensively manufactured in a conventional optical disk process. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium for recording information by using a laser beam, at least a supporting substrate (101), a metal layer (102), and a phase transition type recording layer (104) are laminated, periodic unevenness does not exist at the supporting substrate and unevenness having a fixed period corresponding to tracks in which information is recorded is formed at the metal layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
