<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a work of folding the trunk of a bottle that has been made into an almost flat shape, and to facilitate the maintenance of the shape of the folded bottle. <P>SOLUTION: The bottle has the trunk 2 of a square cylinder shape, which has respective peripheral surfaces 21 to 24 on which lateral ribs 5 to 10 are formed, and the peripheral surfaces 21 and 23 are opposing to each other and have vertical ribs 3 and 4, respectively. The lateral rib 9 is of a parallel groove shape consisting of a recessed extension 9a and a projecting extension 9b formed in the recessed extension 9, and the rest of ribs are of two-step groove shapes each consisting of an upper step recessed extension 6a to 31a and a lower recessed extensions 6b to 31b formed in the upper step recessed extensions 6a to 31a. When the plastic bottle 1 is folded, the peripheral surfaces 22 and 24 are pushed in a B direction first to make the bottle 1 into an almost flat shape with the peripheral surfaces 21 and 23 projecting in an A direction with respect to the vertical ribs 3 and 4. Then the flat shape is folded sequentially with respect to adjacent lateral ribs 7, 10 and 6, 9 with the peripheral surface 22 on the inside of the folded shape (concealed).
