<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a for light signal processing method and device which processes coding and quantization with a light signal and which can process at higher speed. <P>SOLUTION: An optical coding circuit 200 optically codes pulse trains of a signal light having a first wavelength according to a control light which is pulse trains of light analogue signal having a nearby second wavelength different from the first wavelength and optically sampled, by using a plurality of optical coders provided with optical nonlinear elements having periodic characteristics whose input and output characteristics regarding optical intensity are different; and outputs pulse trains of a plurality of optically coded signal light from each optical coder. Then, an optical quantization circuit 300 outputs pulse trains of a carrier light having a nearby third wavelength different from the first wavelength as an optical digital signal after conducting optical threshold processing according to pulse trains of a plurality of optically coded signal light, and optically quantizing by using a plurality of optical threshold processors provided with optical nonlinear elements which are connected to each optical coder respectively and whose input and output characteristics regarding light intensity has periodic characteristics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
