PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a position of a movable element in a compact and simple constitution for combining a motor function and a retarder function, while reducing a power consumption. SOLUTION: In a hybrid motor (1), spaced coils (21, 22) are wound onto a stator (10), and a pole piece (11) formed at one end of the coil (21), a pole piece (12) formed at one end of the coil (22), and a pole piece (13) formed between both coils face the motor movable element (30). A pole piece (14) formed at the other end of the coil (21), and a pole piece (15) formed at the other end of the coil (22) face the retarder movable element (40). A magnet (31) facing the pole piece (11, 13), and a magnet (32) facing the pole piece (12, 13) are disposed in the motor movable element (30).
