A textile spinning machine has a bobbin charger (1) has an array of spindles that temporarily hold empty bobbins that are transferred to mechanical handling system for onward transport. The bobbin charging station has a buffer station (9) for empty spindles (8). The assembly further has a transport tube (16) feeding a series of bobbins to the spinning assembly. The bobbin charger is fitted to the end face of an open-ended spinning machine. Also claimed is a process for manipulating and delivering the bobbins to a spinning machine.
