A recording device control apparatus controls transfer of data associated with each transfer request so that no mismatch is generated in the data such as management information (such as "i node" information) when the transfer order is changed so as to transfer specific data with higher priority in a file system. A transfer request list is created from a transfer request consisting of a plurality of file handles successively received from the file system. The starting request of the transfer request list is made as a request in attention. The data in the request in attention is transferred to a recording device when the transfer request list contains no request having higher priority than the request in attention (N in S03) and the request in attention is not a transfer request of management information (N in S05) and no request of the same file handle exists earlier than the request in attention (N in S08).
