PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage converter capable of using a switching element with a small rated current in an auxiliary circuit for a soft switching. SOLUTION: This voltage converter 10 comprises: voltage smoothing capacitors C1, C2; NPN transistors Q1 to Q6; diodes D1 to D6; buffering capacitors C3, C6; a smoothing reactor L1; a resonance reactor L2; and a current sensor S1. The smoothing reactor L1 is connected between nodes N1, N2. The resonance reactor L2 and the NPN transistors Q5, Q6 are serially connected between the nodes N1, N2. The diodes D5, D6 are respectively connected in antiparallel between emitter-collectors of the NPN transistors Q5, Q6. The resonance reactor L2 is magnetically connected to the smoothing reactor L1 to reduce a reactor current IL1 when charges are pulled out from buffering capacitors C3, C6.
