PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor surface polisher for which the vertical movement of a pad to a floor surface can automatically be performed, a contact pressure to the floor surface can easily be adjusted, a large change in the number of rotation of a pad does not occur even when the contact pressure to the floor surface is changed, and a safety remedy such that when the contact of a brush to the floor surface is abnormal, the pad is automatically separated from the floor surface and is raised is taken. SOLUTION: For this floor surface polisher 1, a vertically movable bracket 12 which is always elastically supported in a separating direction from the floor surface F by a compression spring 14 is provided in the machine body, and on the vertically movable bracket 12, a motor base 9 to which a motor MT and a pad 20 being rotated by the motor MT are attached is fitted.
